wow…in case any can’t read the small print, it’s an ad for a plastic surgeon
with the tagline, Be born again”. See:

I am reminded by seeing this that God–surrounded by nudes–is himself clothed. Is God a prude? Or is this Michaelangelo’s way of saying “no way am I showing God naked.” Why is it that he who created us is so uncomfortable with his body that he has to be clothed? Interesting.

It seems that MICHaelangelo had the problem…..

don’t know how accurate this is but i read that the chapel’s master of ceremonies, Biagio da Cesena declared depictions of nude bodies in church obscene, and he hired the Michelangelo’s apprentice, Daniele da Volterra, to conceal genitals in the artwork. Adversely, Michelangelo painted Cesena as Minos, the ugly judge in hell.
i thought the ad was going to be for a brain surgeon, given the Creation of Adam panel is thought to resemble the cross section of a human brain.
as for plastic surgeon… talk about having a god complex.
still, great use of an image.
